“Another piece of feedback we had was that the game was too dark, so we’ve lit it some more here and there and tried to lead the player’s eye a little more. So there’ll be two modes — the original, unchanged version of Doom 3 and the updated one.’

We’ve really focused on keeping the core experience there. From talking to people on the show floor [at E3], a lot of them weren’t too happy with the idea of the flashlight as something separate. So integrating the flashlight into your main weapon seemed like a no-brainer, yet even then we still had people say they wanted to play the original way.

  4. themeshow1011

  5. TheKnifeman14

  6. MacDarkful

    bfg is BIG FUCKING GUN

  7. TheMkreptile8860

So did u get too play it ? how were the graphics running on console?

  8. TheMkreptile8860

Yes u do its confirmed u will be able 2 play it the original way or with the flashlight mounted on the armour :)

The Doom 3 collectors edition on Xbox had it as well. I love the old Doom 1/2 games but want a refresh with better graphics and a sound track like the PS1 Finale Doom.

  10. coinoptv

i have Doom 1 and 2 on the Xbox already – downloaded ‘em – I wonder if these will be the same versions

  11. Blindshot69

60 frames a second ! I think it ran like 15 mhz on the old Xbox lol. I wish they would talk more about the Doom 1 n 2. They could make the old ones so cool with cheap hardware.

I liked the idea of a separate flash light, it was done that way to make you feel more vulnerable while progressing through the level. The game was dark but there was never a point in the game where you couldn’t draw a difficult enemy into the light and/or use your muzzle flash or their projectiles to get their position.

yea i realy hope so,i have final doom for psx that work on my ps3 and doom + doom 2 for psx, xbox and pc but i like playing on console most. trophies and achievements makes it more addictive

  14. Borderlanderful

Those levels were alot harder and more fun to play co-op in because of that. Oh well they might release final doom later if they get permission from team TNT on xbl marketplace for 800 points or so.

  15. zippo71111

thats a bit sad, considering the game had so many good maps.

  16. Borderlanderful

Im not sure but final doom wasnt made by id so that may be why it isnt in this.

  17. zippo71111

they should’ve added final doom.its good for the ps3 users to get access to doom, doom 2 but many of the community asked about final doom but it seemed to be ignored by the developers. i bought both doom games on the xbla but final doom has the best content in my opinion. Two big chapters and the famous go 2 it level.come on! put the game up already!

  18. KILLZONER20

What I wanna is will Doom 1 and 2 have trophy support.. Anyone?

  19. regionfree1

  24. shuko007

Do we still have the option of switching to the flashlight and back to the weapons like in the original PC version?

    I liked that mechanic!

  25. darkentity1000
