Hit Somebody is a hockey ballad written by Warren Zevon but that ballad has become the subject of Kevin Smith’s next script. The ballad is about a poor farm boy named Buddy who loves hockey but can’t play even if his life depended on it.
So instead of trying hockey buddy becomes an enforcer, which later earns him a place on a team from Saskatoon. He struggles with his hockey career as the coach tells him he is there to protect the goal scoring players, but all he really wants is to score a goal – which he does in his final game.
Kevin Smith tried to get Warner Bros. to make it into a film but they rejected it for now. He’s still gonna write the script but it’s wether Warner Bros will distribute remains to be seen.
